A lively and varied “Evening of Ballads for John Steinbeck” will begin at 5:30 pm at the National Steinbeck Center. Songwriter David Baumgarten and noted guitarist and vocalist Louie Ortega will be accompanied by instrumentalists Sidney Wilson Young and Chrisanne Wollett as well as Christina Bearce, who will do multimedia work. The group will perform a variety of songs, including some influenced directly by Steinbeck’s novels. FREE.
