America’s Wine: The Legacy of Prohibition documentary: $20 (ticket included in VIP package)
Spanning a century of winemaking up to the present day, this documentary tells the story of the entrepreneurial California wine families who overcame obstacles to rebuild the American wine industry, decimated by National Prohibition. Featuring seldom seen footage, archival photographs, and historic interviews. This is a rare viewing of this movie, owned by The Bancroft Library. We are honored to host the producer, director, and writer Carla De Luca Worfolk at the weekend’s events.

How does a Sommelier approach a multi-winery tasting event? Learn how best to enjoy tasting wine, including planning your approach, learning how to taste, and more. This workshop is ideal for those new to wine festivals and for those that want to improve their wine tasting skills.
– Scents & Sensibility 6:45 – 8:00 pm
Many people underestimate the importance of smell when it comes to tasting wines. Research reports that 75%-95% of the taste of wines comes from the nose. This workshop focuses on experiencing and understanding the varieties of aromas present in different wines. De-mystify these scents and increase your enjoyment and appreciation of wine.

ID Requirements/Age Limit: Must be 21 years of age with valid identification to enter the event (the law says no children, even babies, are permitted).
Pets: Due to health & safety laws pets are NOT permissible. Service dogs are always welcomed. Emotional support, where the dog’s mere presence provides comfort, is not considered a service animal under the ADA.
Ticket Transfers/Refunds: All tickets sales are final. Tickets are transferable. You may purchase for others and give them away should you be unable to attend. Tickets are NONREFUNDABLE.
Entrance Guidelines: Printed or digital copies of your ticket will be required for entry scan. Guests may exit and re-enter the event, however, you must leave your glass in the event area and your wristband must be intact to re-enter. Registration will not check guests in twice if wristband has been removed.
Transportation/Parking: VIP ticket holders receive valet parking (with instructions emailed to VIP ticket holders in early May). A complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Barnyard in Carmel. Shuttles run continually. Most residential streets outside the central business district also offer free, unlimited parking, but please respect homeowner signage and driveways.
UBER and LYFT both operate locally and will get you to and from the event safely.
This event is on the Monterey Peninsula, close to Monterey, Pebble Beach, Carmel Valley and Pacific Grove.
