LOS ANGELES, CA – Last evening on Wednesday, February 20th, Stephan James & Shamier Anderson kicked off Oscar week by hosting the fourth annual B.L.A.C.K BALL.

Tessa Thompson, Tiffany Haddish, Jesse Williams, Amandla Stenberg and many others celebrated from the evening into the morning with the two brothers.

The B.L.A.C.K BALL truly was a triumph in ‘Building a Legacy in Acting, Cinema and Knowledge’.

From Tiffany Haddish singing karaoke into the DJ’s microphone to Shamier and Stephan dancing it off in a dance circle, the night was full of surprises.

Shamier Anderson and Stephan James were born and raised by a single mother in the Scarborough community. The Brothers have overcome adversity by making an impact in film & television globally.

Their vision is to have a mentorship program in the film community by introducing this initiative. As Black Canadian artists working abroad, the brothers, in the early stages of their careers, unfortunately experienced a lack of support and mentorship from their Canadian Industry peers.

They acknowledged that talent is not determined by what you know but by who you know. Anderson and James’ goal is to give back and pioneer an intimate platform for the next generation of artists & hollywoods’ heavyweights. Empowerment, Elevation and Equality through the arts is the fundamental principle fueling B.L.A.C.K..
