Mamma Mia!, by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, is one of the most successful Broadway musicals of all time. Based on the hit songs of ABBA, the story follows an independent, single mother, Donna, who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island, as she is about to let go of Sophie, the spirited daughter she’s raised alone. Young Sophie is ready to get married to her fiancée Sky, except for one thing – she has never met her father and wants him present for the big day, so she invites the three “potential dads” that she discovers in her mother’s diary. As Sophie, Sky, Donna, her friends, and Sophie’s three potential fathers prepare for the big day, emotions run high and surprises abound. Interwoven through-out the action is the storytelling magic of ABBA’s songs, from “Honey, Honey” and “Dancing Queen”, to “Money, Money, Money”, “Voulez Vous”, “Take a Chance on Me”, “Thank You for the Music” and more.
With a cast of over 28 performers and musicians, PacRep’s production stars Equity performer Lydia Lyons as Donna, Cat Chiappa as Rosie, Jill Miller as Tanya, and Nicole Cofresi as Donna’s daughter Sophie.
