CARMEL, CA – Step into an enchanted world with Pacific Repertory Theatre and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, playing August 15th through September 22nd at the Outdoor Forest Theater, in Carmel. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, the stage musical features all the classic songs and characters that audiences know and love.

Nominated for nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, the story follows Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he and his household will be transformed into their former selves. Written by Linda Woolverton, the production features special effects and illusions, as well as a dazzling host of wonderful songs by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice including “Be Our Guest”, “If I Can’t Love Her”, and the timeless masterpiece, “Beauty and the Beast”. This live musical version of the classic fairy tale continues to mesmerize audiences around the world.

Under the direction of PacRep founder Stephen Moorer, musical direction by Janice Perl, and choreography by Devin Adler, the production will feature a host of central coast favorites, including Equity Actor J.T. Holmstrom as Gaston, Claire Moorer and Bri Slama sharing the role of Belle, Justin Gaudoin as the Beast, Ken Cusson as Cogsworth, Lyla Englehorn as Mrs. Potts, John Daniel as Lumiere, Lynette Graves as Babette, Katie Day as the Wardrobe, and a supporting cast of over 50 performers.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will begin performances with two discount previews, Thursday August 15th, and Friday August 16th, opening Saturday August 17th at 7:30 pm, with a 3:00 pm matinee on Sunday August 18th. Performances continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm, with 3:00 pm Sunday matinees, through September 22nd, 2019.
