Jason Mewes has cemented his place in film history from his perch outside a New Jersey convenience store. In Kevin Smith’s seminal indie comedy Clerks, Mewes played the vulgar, motor-mouthed pot dealer Jay, whose profane tirades and close friendship with his pal Silent Bob — played by Smith — made him a fan favorite. Mewes reprised the role five times on the big screen between 1995 and 2006, and now co-hosts the award-winning podcast Jay & Silent Bob Get Old with his longtime friend and collaborator Kevin Smith. Mewes relates some of the hilarious moments from his film and podcast career in Jay Mewes & His A-Mewes-ing Stories at the San Jose Improv on Sunday, April 19.
